On Saturday 21st March you are welcome to join us to climb Croagh Patrick (or the Reek). A few of us from Blackrock in the West did it a few years ago for no other reason other than to meet up and enjoy the place, the company and shoot the breeze.
The routine is pretty simple - meet at the car park in Murrisk at 12:00. Up and down will be about 4.5 hours. Just let me know if you are coming to Westport and if you would like to eat together afterwards. I will have an idea of numbers and should be able to easily organise a place in town where a group can be accommodated - large or small. For those wishing to travel from the East there is a train that gets in at 11.30am and leaves at 6:00pm.
Each of us will have their own reason for the climb - it's can be to get together or just remember an old friend, some of you might like to use it as a challenge and raise funds for something close to your heart, for another it's just a great day. Either way myself and others from the West will be happy to welcome you and share the challenge and pleasures of the day.
