The Blackrock College community has a long and proud history of supporting important charitable causes that help some of the world’s poorest people. In keeping with this tradition, Transition Year students are organising a Charity Duck Race in Grand Canal Basin on Friday April 20th at 1pm to raise much needed funds for GOAL and Aidlink, two Irish charities working to alleviate poverty in the developing world.
Ducks sponsorship is €250 with a host of fantastic prizes up for grabs. Individual sponsors will be entered into a Family Duck Race, while business sponsors will be entered into our Corporate Duck Race. Businesses that sponsor three ducks will have their logo featured on the Duck Race webpage. Businesses that sponsor 4 or more ducks will have their logo featured on promotional material at the race. Media outlets will be present on the day.
Your support is hugely appreciated by the school community and our charity partners.

A number of the TY boys have just returned from Kenya, where they spent one week with Aidlink seeing first-hand the important work being carried out to help those in need, particularly the plight of children who live in extreme poverty. Funds raised from the Duck Race will support projects that improve the lives of families living in poverty throughout the developing world.
