The preparations began back in October for the Blackrock annual Children’s Christmas Party for the students of the Holy Family in Monkstown Farm.
Presents were purchased in Smyths toy store for 45 children and wrapped by my wife Linda
Christmas selection boxes were also kindly donated again by Blackrock RFC mini & youth section.
The day started with Richard Burke meeting the bus at the Bluepool in Monkstown accompanied by 5 Transition Year students of Blackrock, who really helped to make the day fun for the children.
The bus headed to the Leisureplex Stillorgan where the children were also met by the Transition Year students of Mt Anville who too were all excellent help on the day.
A big thank you to Leisureplex who charge very little for such a large group.
The children moved on to The Goat Grill where they played games and danced with their party Entertainer Claire before being fed with sausage and chips.
After Christmas carols, Santa arrived and didn’t disappoint; the children waited patiently for their presents and were delighted with the surprises that they received.
A very big thank you must go to Jenny Chawke and all the staff of the Goat Grill who provide the room, food and drinks free on charge every year.
Thanks also to our annual Santa, Declan Conway for doing a terrific job once again, also my thanks to Richard Burke, and my wife Linda.
