The evening started at 7.30pm with the St.Mary’s Parent’s Choir in the Herbert Park Hotel and over 200 then sat down for a beautiful meal.
Fr.Martin Kelly said Grace and Fr.Brian Starken spoke about the chosen charity in Bawnogue for Tus Nua a group set up in 1997 to help drug addiction and problems with youths in Clondalkin.
We had a fabulous raffle and then after dinner we had the Auction where proceeds exceeding 12k were raised on the night.
This is the only 5 School Union event where partners are invited and all enjoyed a very enjoyable evening.
All 5 Presidents of each Union and all 5 Principals of the 5 Schools were in attendance and 10 Spiritan priests.
This event has been running for the last 8/9 years and is growing every year.Ballsbridge Motors were the main sponsors and so many companies were very generous with prizes for the Raffle and Auction.
All schools were well represented and the finale song of the choir “Go Ye Afar” was a fitting part of the evening.
