On a great weekend in May the class of 2003 gathered to celebrate their 10 year reunion. With over 100 class members booked in, hopes were high for a great weekend and it did not disappoint! It was great to get so many familiar faces back to the college to celebrate the milestone, especially with a large number of rockmen returning from abroad for the event.
Returning to the college which has undergone a huge amount of development in the last 10 years was the highlight for many. As always Fr. Tom Nash organised a brilliant service along with Fr. Cormac O'Brolchain which included very inspirational homilies from Brian Canny and Robbie Semple.
From the school, buses transported guests to Blackrock College R.F.C. for dinner. As ever, the evening in the rugby club was the main event of the weekend and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Many thanks for the President of the Union, Mr. Brian O'Sullivan who spoke on the evening and gave a great reminder of all things great about both the school and the Blackrock College Union.
Saturday provided another chance to catch up when we gathered for a few more drinks and a few more laughs as stories from school days were recounted.
Our thanks go to Mr. Pat Deegan and the staff in Blackrock College R.F.C. who made us very welcome and were extremely facilitating in allowing us stay in the Rugby Club until the small hours of Saturday morning!
As ever, Fr. Tom Nash was instrumental in helping the weekend come together and the entire class of 2003 would like to express our gratitude to him for everything and for joining us on the night for dinner. Thanks also to John Fitzpatrick and Maurice Sheerin for their help and guidance in organising the event.
Finally, as a result of the successful reunion and raffle on the night we were able to raise over 2000 for the Blue & White Fund and the Missions which was donated on behalf of the class of 2003. Thanks must go to the whole organising committee as well as all those who donated prizes on the night for enabling us to support such worthy causes.
Looking forward to having us all back together for the 20 year out
