President̢۪s Prize (Stephen Mullin-Class 1983) Golf Outing





Over 115 Union members and their guests joined the Union President in playing in the President̢۪s Prize outing on Friday the 13thof September last, in Elm Park Golf Club. The day was perfect for playing golf, which was reflected in very strong scoring.



The prize winners were as follows;

1st Gavin Homan 40 points

2nd Tony Connolly 39 points

3rd Harry Cullen 38 points (won on back 9 count back)

4th Charlie Reilly 37 points (won on back 9 count back)

Best Gross Robert McCarthy 32 points

The dinner and prize giving was attended by over 90 golfers, with a significant number of Junior Union members. There was a fantastic atmosphere. The New Union President, Stephen Mullin was accompanied by many of his class-mates from the class of 1983 for the evening.



The Golf Society Secretary, Robert McCarthy presented a cheque for €500 to the Union President, as a donation to his chosen charity, The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.



The Union Match-play trophy was presented to this year̢۪s winner Greg Moore, who beat Cian McKeogh in the final.



Union President, Stephen Mullin in his first official function since taking office in late May, addressed the gathering, setting out his plans for his year in Office and thanking junior members especially for the participation and their attendance at the dinner.
