The Junior Union golf outing took place on Saturday the 30th of March on a beautiful spring day in Powerscourt. This year was the largest attendance ever on a packed timesheet. There was both afternoon and morning tee times, with food and drinks along with a prize giving ceremony in Gleesons that evening. A special thanks to the staff at Gleesons for the wonderful hospitality as always, and of course Powerscourt Golf Club for hosting us on the west course for another year.
A particular thank you must be given to all the sponsors of this great event, which is growing year after year, without you this would not be possible. A tidy sum has been raised for the union charities as a result.
The Pere Leman trophy this year went to Mark Grogan (Class of 2018), with an incredible 44 points. Below is the list of prize winners:
Gross: Ted Collins 36 points
Nearest the pin: Dylan OĆ¢Reilly
Longest drive: Paul Cullen
The biggest thanks must be reserved for the organising committee: Dylan OĆ¢Reilly, Dillon Coghlan, Eric Olden, Jack Gardiner and Rob Dalton, who without their hard work this terrific event would not have been possible.
