A message from the membership secretary

On behalf of the BCU I would like to wish you a Happy New Year.
I am writing to you to seek your support in rolling out membership of the Union to over 13,000 of your fellow past pupils.
In 2015 we introduced Universal membership of the Union which abolished the compulsory annual membership subscription for union membership. This now enables us to reach out to all past generations of rock men and invite them to reconnect with the college through the Union either in Ireland the US, UK or whoever past students live.
As you will appreciate establishing communication with so many past students is a significant task and the committee are currently engaged in a wide variety of activities to achieve this but need more assistance from past pupils.
On Monday the 1st of February, we will be hosting a meeting on Universal membership in the College at 7pm for all current members of the Union. At the meeting, President of the Union, David Coen and Principal of the College Alan MacGinty will discuss the rationale of Universal membership and the importance of reconnecting with all past students. We would like to invite you to attend this meeting with your fellow Union members. All members of the Union going back over 30 years have been invited to attend and hear how they can assist in this project and ensure the introduction of Universal membership has long term benefits for the wider Blackrock College Community.
I would like to invite you to attend the meeting on Monday the 1st of February we would be grateful for your time and contribution to what is the most important strategic initiative ever undertaken by the Union.
