Print No 1 Blackrock College, Williamstown, County Dublin depicts the many historical buildings which make up the College site. In the foreground is Williamstown Castle, which was acquired in 1875 by the Holy Ghost Fathers and has subsequently enjoyed a rich and varied history. It is currently the home of the boarders at the college, and their presence from many lands helps continue the tradition of Blackrock’s links with the wider world. In the distance are Jubilee Hall, completed in 1914 to mark the College’s 50th anniversary, the magnificent new senior wing, and Castledawson House graced by the familiar landmark of the clock tower.
Print No 2 Spring Evening, Blackrock College has captured the essence of a spring evening at Blackrock College through the artist’s depiction of setting sunlight on Williamstown Castle as young athletes train for upcoming sports events.
