5th Year Parents Career Seminars-Sept 2015

There was a big turnout on each of the last two Monday evenings for the 5th Year parents career seminars, organised jointly by the College Careers Team and The Union.
The seminars were run as follows;
Monday 14th of Sept-Career Opportunities in the Present Economic Climate

Mr. Alan McGinty: College Principal
Chairperson: Ms Carleen McGee, Head of Guidance & Counselling in Blackrock College
Monday 21st of Sept-STEM Careers (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)

Mr. Gary Leyden (Class of 86), NDRC
Mr. David Regan (Class of 81), Accenture
Mr. Niall Eyre (Class of 86), Pfizer
Mr. David Sherry (Class of 2007), Adroll
Chairperson: Mr. David Coen, President Blackrock College Past Pupils Union
On both evenings there were detailed discussions about career choices and career options, with excellent contributions from all speakers and very wide ranging question and answers sessions each evening.
The Union would like to thank the past pupils who generously gave up their time to assist us in helping the 5th Year parents to assist their sons with their imminent career selections. We would also like to thanks Carleen McGee and all of her team in the Career Guidance & Counselling Team in the College for their great help.
The upcoming Union Careers programme, will include the following;
4th Years STEM Workshop. Date to be confirmed
5th Years Career Talks-Sat 16th & Sat 23rd of January 2016
6th Years Mock Interviews-Weds 27th of January 2016
Past Pupils Graduate Interview preparation evening. October 2016.
