2009 Mission Fund dinner
Following the successful Charity Auction Fundraiser organised by the Union Mission Fund earlier this year a second Charity Auction has been set to raise badly needed funds for the Spiritan Priests working in the Third World Missions.The Auction night will take place on Friday 6th February, the eve of the Ireland/France 6 Nations Rugby International, at the same venue, the Law Society at Blackhall Place.
Last time,through the generosity of many Past Pupils a sum of E40,000 was raised on the night, all of which went to needy projects being undertaken by Spiritan Missionary Priests in some of the porest areas of the World. In the last Union Financial Year over E60,000 was raised for Projects that included payments for Generators,
Every year the Union Mission Fund produces a signature project for the Reunions (10,21,30, 40 and 50 year outs) to focus on.
This year the chosen project is Fr. Pat Clarke CSSp. His project is with the extreme poor of the Favelas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favela) in San Paulo Brazil ( http://www.latinartmall.com/sanpaulo.htm ) .
