We had circa 500 walkers, joggers and runners take part in the run at Leopardstown Racecourse Sunday, 26th March 2017.
The sunshine was glorious which only added to the great atmosphere. Greg Manahan was superb and kept everyone on the track motivated and the supporters watching entertained.
First home was Christian McKenna (Class of 2016) followed by Conor Halpin (5th Year) with Ross McCann (6th Year) in 3rd Place.
The Ladies race was won by Emma Flynn followed by Luda Bulich 2nd and Patricia Forde in 3rd Place.
The TY students, driven by the infectious determination of the staff led by Alan Maginty, was instrumental in making the event into the success that it was and we have no doubt will be going forward.
After the race we went into the pavilion where the winners were presented their prizes and over 50 other competitors received spot prizes. The Students and staff organised this and they also sourced T-shirts, Jaffa cakes, water and fruit juice which was made available for everyone at the event.
The majority of those who participated were students and their parents from the school. There was a decent presence from the Union but it can be improved upon.
David Gillett and I would like to recognise the contributions of the TY students the teachers Mr. Brennan, Mr. Savage, Mr O̢۪Shea, Mr O̢۪Neill, and coach Eddie McDonagh as well as the leadership of Alan MaGinty.
The race will go ahead next year and is in very good hands going forward.
As soon as we have the final revenue figures we will update the page.
