1983 Re-union Summary Report
The class of 1983 celebrated its 30 Year reunion on the weekend beginning Friday 8thMarch 2013, while 92 attended the reunion dinner in the rugby club 102 members of the year attended  one or more of the events over the course of the weekend.
The Fr Seamus Flemming Cup has been and was the focus of the golf event of the weekend which was to have taken place in Elm Park G.C, unfortunately the event had to be postponed due to adverse weather to a date still to be confirmed later this year.
Later the same evening the 30 somethings of the Class of 1983 full of anxious anticipation attended a Reception in the college Lecture hall also attended by  PPU President Brian OSullivan, Fr. Malachy Kilbride , Fr. Tom Nash Fr. Cormac OBrolachain and Maurice Sherin.
A Mass of remembrance was celebrated in the College Chapel at which four deceased members of the class were remembered and prayed for, the chief Celebrant of the Eucharist was Fr. Malachy Kilbride, the liturgy was organised by Fr. Tom Nash and assisted by Maurice Sheerin and Chorister Fr. Cormac OBrolochain, had upwards of 50 members of the class singing nervously at first and enthusiastically by the end.
The reunion photograph was taken by a patient Patrick Dowling of Rock Photography in St Patricks corridor, this was quickly followed transport to Stradbrook at which 92 members of the class and 5 principle guests attended a Reunion dinner, a letter from Fr. Seamus Flemming was read to the members of the year assembled. Video letters and greetings from members of the class in Australia, UK and USA who were unable to attend the reunion celebrations were received enthusiastically while music and a range entertainment was organised and performed by band members and individuals Mark Colcloth, Paul White, Paul Bolger and Odran Jennings among others entertained us all into the small hours of Saturday morning.
The feature event on Saturday 9thMarch was Senior Soccer Team and Castle 3rds Gathering, for Lunch in Gleesons to watch Ireland V France were all joined by the rest of the class to meet & greet again into the small hours.
Special thanks to all members of the class who worked hard over a period of months to track down and make contact with as many members of the class they could and organise a very special reunion weekend for the class of 1983 , well done.
